About the position

The Sr DevOps Engineer will serve as a hands-on subject matter expert in DevOps and Automation within an AWS infrastructure environment. This role involves leading the development and maintenance of automation tools, participating in fast-paced engineering teams, and collaborating with architects and developers to create supportable designs. The engineer will also be responsible for incident management, late-night deployments, and on-call support for production systems, ensuring effective problem resolution during critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Scripting and building required automation and tools using languages such as BASH, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
• Managing incidents and providing on-call support for production systems, including late-night deployments.
• Leading the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation across various platform services.
• Participating in DevOps and SysOps Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes.
• Collaborating with architects and developers to create supportable designs and debug issues.
• Developing cloud infrastructure designs and guiding the process from development to operations.
• Making decisions on problem resolutions during critical downtime situations.
• Contributing to technical discussions and working groups with various stakeholders.
• Understanding cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing, particularly strong expertise in AWS.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and reading complex code using debuggers.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps or similar roles.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with AWS tools and methodologies.
• 3+ years of development experience in Python.
• 3+ years of experience with Mongo, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
• 2+ years of experience with ELK and NewRelic.
