About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the quality engineering function and manage internal cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) development. This role is critical in ensuring that UAT and PROD validation requirements are met effectively. The Senior DevOps Engineer will perform technical requirements and use case analysis to drive testing and test automation development objectives. This position involves developing new IaC test code and executing existing test code, evaluating results against acceptance criteria, and creating and maintaining bugs discovered during testing. In addition, the engineer will identify and drive opportunities to improve automation via API using tools such as Insomnia or similar toolsets. The role requires a strong understanding of various programming languages, including Java, Python, Perl, Go, and shell scripting, as well as experience with Hashicorp Terraform and Vault. The engineer will work in a CI/CD pipeline controlled environment, leveraging standard IDEs and tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, XLRelease, and JIRA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in server operating systems and configurations, both Windows and Linux, and a solid understanding of cloud virtualization technology for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) enablement. Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure UI functionality and infrastructure as code functionality modeling is essential. The engineer should be fluent in agile methodology and possess excellent communication skills to understand customer-based requirements and expectations. The ability to manage testing in a multi-tasking approach, strong documentation skills, and a focus on process improvement based on lessons learned are also critical for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Support quality engineering function and manage internal cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) development covering UAT and PROD validation requirements.
  • Perform technical requirements and use case analysis for testing and test automation development objectives.
  • Develop new and execute existing IaC test code, evaluate results against acceptance criteria, and create/maintain bugs discovered.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation via API using Insomnia or similar toolset.

Requirements

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Perl, Go, and shell scripting.
  • Experience in Hashicorp Terraform/Vault.
  • Experience in Windows OS and Office Productivity Suite of applications.
  • Expertise working in a CI/CD pipeline controlled environment leveraging a standard IDE (MSVS), and required tools/apps that facilitate the pipeline (Bitbucket, Jenkins, XLRelease, JIRA).
  • Versed in server operating systems and configurations (Windows and Linux), infrastructure hosting components, and cloud virtualization technology for Infrastructure as a Service enablement.
  • Expertise in testing hosting infrastructure (physical and virtual) with working knowledge of AWS and/or AZURE UI functionality, and infrastructure as code functionality modeling, including an understanding of orchestration and workflow virtualization functionality.
  • Fluent with agile methodology, and JIRA management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand customer-based requirements and expectations.
  • Able to perform/manage testing in a multi-tasking approach (multiple parallel executions).
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Highly effective at driving process improvement based on lessons learned analysis.
  • Effective at working with a team, while able to work independently.
  • Able to identify conflicts and problems, and provide possible solutions.
