The position involves researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining DevSecOps processes and tools aimed at automating the integration and deployment of complex Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity software applications. The role requires maintaining the deployment of multiple software baselines, which includes custom Virtual Machine (VM) and container configurations for development, testing, and deployment activities. A key responsibility is to ensure that the DevSecOps environment is conducive to designing, implementing, deploying, and executing automated tests, while also investigating new DevSecOps and related technologies. The successful candidate will be tasked with integrating new technologies and processes into the corporate DevSecOps environment to facilitate smooth transitions between various projects and programs. Additionally, the role involves collecting, processing, and presenting various metrics related to build, network, security, systematic performance, and other areas to demonstrate automation improvements or degradations over time. The candidate will also be responsible for migrating legacy DevOps, Information Assurance (IA), and IT capabilities to new systems without losing project history or documentation. Balancing hybrid cloud distribution between private corporate infrastructure and public clouds is another critical aspect of the job. The position also supports business development and proposal efforts by providing DevSecOps expertise and requires the ability to work independently while transitioning between programs to provide backfill or permanent support. Essential job functions include performing a variety of DevSecOps duties such as authoring and maintaining automation deployment and monitoring scripts, developing and maintaining security controls and systems, managing virtualized assets, and creating both virtual and physical network configurations. The candidate must be proficient in authoring and maintaining scripts in various programming languages, ensuring that all work products are configuration managed. Analyzing real-world problems and implementing solutions in accordance with corporate guidelines, DoD DevSecOps guidance, and industry best practices is essential. The role also requires assuring system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components.
