About the position
The Senior DevOps Engineer at O.C. Tanner plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of the technology that supports employee recognition platforms. This position involves managing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing cloud-based systems on AWS, and providing operational support to cross-functional teams. The engineer will leverage expertise in various technologies to build and maintain scalable systems, ensuring smooth deployment and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for secure software deployment.
- Manage and improve cloud infrastructure using AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CDK.
- Build and maintain containerized environments with Kubernetes for scalability and performance.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools in Golang, Typescript, and Java for infrastructure management.
- Integrate and optimize logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to improve system observability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in collaboration with development teams.
- Maintain and enhance security, availability, and performance of production systems.
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure best practices in deployment and system architecture.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps or related engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and strong knowledge of GitHub Actions.
- Strong expertise with AWS cloud services and AWS CDK for infrastructure automation.
- Proficiency in Golang and Typescript for writing scripts and automation.
- Experience with Kubernetes for managing containerized workloads.
- Solid understanding of observability tools and techniques (e.g., logging, monitoring, alerting).
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex infrastructure and application issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Nice-to-haves
- Any AWS or CKA certifications
- Proficiency with Data Technologies (Postgres, Elasticsearch)
- Experience with ActiveMQ and Kafka
