About the position

SitusAMC is seeking an Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team as we embark on a Digital Transformation journey. This role is pivotal in implementing and automating our infrastructure and platform creation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) integrated with Azure DevOps. The Associate SRE will be responsible for building, deploying, and managing various AWS Cloud Environments that utilize Kubernetes, Microservices, and EC2. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with development teams, ensuring that tools and access requests are accommodated effectively. In this role, you will standardize monitoring and alerting environments, participate in patching and vulnerability remediation, and manage IAM roles while conducting basic security audits. You will also audit pipelines and inventory accounts, administrate source code repositories, and collaborate with senior engineers to scope out proposed projects. As a member of the incident response team, you will participate in standup meetings and engage in other activities as assigned by your manager. This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Development teams accommodating tools and access requests
  • Standardize monitoring and alerting environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or equivalent combination of education and experience (5 years of experience in lieu of education accepted)
  • Experience with open source databases such as Postgres
  • Experience with Scrum or Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
  • Knowledge of AWS and other cloud services
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or .Net
  • Prior experience working on a team
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction
  • Experience with dashboarding and reporting management
