About the position

The Sr. DevSecOps Engineer will play a crucial role in the Application Development group within NYPA's Product Development & Data Management department. This position focuses on designing and implementing secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines while integrating security practices into the software development lifecycle. The engineer will also conduct security assessments, automate security testing, and provide mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring the organization stays updated with the latest industry trends in DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software products to improve reliability and drive innovation.
  • Contribute to all technology aspects of application development, including reports, interfaces, database design, patching, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across business and technical disciplines, collaborating with network administrators, systems analysts, and application developers.
  • Use best practices in software development methodologies while collaborating with other areas to understand requirements and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support cloud solution resources, both IaaS and PaaS, and architect large scale enterprise infrastructure for cloud environments.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DevSecOps or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in application development lifecycle and support, including large scale software systems implementations.
  • Experience in implementation and support of Enterprise Applications/systems.
  • Knowledge of application security configurations.
  • Experience with configuration, change management, DevSecOps, and testing activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies and architectures.
  • Familiarity with security assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages.
