About the position

The Sr. Developer, Business Intelligence role at Compass Group involves collaborating with accounting and IT teams to enhance process efficiencies and lead impactful projects. The position focuses on developing and managing Power BI dashboards, implementing RPA solutions, and providing technical training to improve team expertise, all within a hybrid work environment based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships within the Accounting Services department and the broader Compass organization.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to identify and develop solutions that drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for development, management, and oversight of projects and facilitation of successful operational change management.
  • Build, implement, and document end-to-end project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Define project scope, goals, and results that support business goals in collaboration with all partners.
  • Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Participate as an active member of the Accounting Process and Innovation Forum.
  • Increase the broader Accounting team's knowledge of technology solutions by leading trainings and development sessions.
  • Manage the RPA lifecycle, dashboards, and technical platforms for specified Accounting functions.
  • Develop complex Power BI measures and dashboards, utilizing advanced DAX skills and optimizing data models.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems; MS Actg or MBA a plus
  • 4+ years of working experience (not including internships)
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting environment (preferable)
  • 2+ years of RPA development experience (preferable)
  • 4+ years of Power BI development experience (must have)
  • Advanced reporting skills preferred - Power Query, Power BI, Excel
  • Ability to create new and understand existing SQL code
  • Experience working with Access Databases
  • General understanding of Automation programming (various languages)
  • Excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking skills as evidenced by past performance
  • Ability to multi-task between various priorities in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Committed and enthusiastic approach to deliver solutions to business customers
  • Ability to manage communication at all levels of the organization
  • Food industry experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills required, Access database / Tableau skills a plus)
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP
  • Experience with a large company and extremely large data sets
  • Ability to foster solid business partnerships with management partners across multiple disciplines
  • Strong data analytic skills and working knowledge of business intelligence software available
  • Desire to continuously learn and grow as a professional
