About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Developer at Compass Group USA is responsible for collaborating with accounting and IT teams to drive process improvements and lead impactful projects. This role involves developing and managing Power BI dashboards, implementing RPA solutions, and providing technical training to enhance team expertise. The position is based in Charlotte and offers a hybrid work schedule, emphasizing the importance of technology in optimizing accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships within the Accounting Services department and the broader Compass organization.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to identify and develop solutions that drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Build, implement, and document end-to-end project plans and revise as appropriate.
  • Define project scope, goals, and results that support business goals in collaboration with partners.
  • Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Participate as an active member of the Accounting Process and Innovation Forum.
  • Increase the broader Accounting team's knowledge of technology solutions by leading trainings.
  • Manage the RPA lifecycle, dashboards, and technical platforms for specified Accounting functions.
  • Develop complex Power BI measures and dashboards, utilizing advanced DAX skills.
  • Understand, implement, and adhere to proper accounting controls.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems; MS Actg or MBA a plus
  • 4+ years of working experience (not including internships)
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting environment
  • 2+ years of RPA development experience
  • 4+ years of Power BI development experience
  • Advanced reporting skills in Power Query, Power BI, Excel
  • Ability to create and understand existing SQL code
  • Experience working with Access Databases
  • General understanding of Automation programming
  • Excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage communication at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems
  • Strong data analytic skills and working knowledge of business intelligence software
