About the position

The Sr. Developer-Mobility IOS role is a long-term contract position focused on developing innovative features for Virgin Atlantic's customer-facing mobile platform. The position requires a strong background in iOS development, particularly with Swift and SwiftUI, and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions. The role also includes mentoring team members and managing production issues, ensuring the team adheres to Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative features for the iOS native application supporting Virgin Atlantic's customer-facing mobile platform.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions that create resilient and automated systems.
• Ensure defect-free delivery of solutions, focusing on reusability, reliability, and quality.
• Work closely with technical architects and IT peers to enhance customer experience.
• Lead a team in identifying solutions to business needs for iOS applications.
• Mentor the agile team to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution while delivering innovative solutions.
• Manage production issue triage, release management, and overall backlog maintenance.
• Recruit and retain top talent for the team.
• Conduct research and development for POCs and innovative customer interaction ideas.
• Drive work using industry-leading Agile practices.

Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in iOS development.
• Proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C.
• Familiar with design patterns such as MVP, MVC, and MVVM.
• Experience with XCUITest and XCTest.
• Knowledge of Swift Packages and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of functional programming and reactive patterns using Combine.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• Experienced in Agile software development practices, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
