About the position

The Senior Director of Business Development-Agency at The Trade Desk is responsible for managing strategic relationships with pharmaceutical and agency partners. This role involves collaborating with various teams to drive growth, optimize strategies, and communicate the value of The Trade Desk's media buying platform. The position requires strong leadership skills and a proven track record in online advertising sales, particularly within complex business environments.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for representing strategic pharmaceutical and agency relationships.
  • Work collectively with Sales, Client Services, and Trading teams to drive strategy and cultivate growth.
  • Oversee an existing team of high-performing sales leaders.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with senior-level agency stakeholders.
  • Communicate the value of the media buying platform by aligning it with client business objectives.
  • Participate in product roadmap discussions based on client and agency needs.
  • Work closely with product, marketing, and revenue teams to optimize efforts relating to company-wide goals.
  • Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding agency objectives and client business needs.
  • Build deep and lasting connections internally across departments.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in online advertising outbound sales driving growth across large, complex businesses.
  • Core belief in the power of Omnichannel to drive business results.
  • Detailed understanding of the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical category is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with a technical platform is preferred.
  • Experience managing a small team or as a player/coach is preferred.
  • Experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, SEM platform, DSP, or other online advertising/marketing role.
  • Experience establishing longstanding, consultative relationships.
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability for leading commercial negotiations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, especially with C-level clients.
  • Passion for closing deals and achieving revenue expectations.
