About the position

The Senior Director and Head of Global Partnership Development at ASU is a pivotal role responsible for advancing the university's global access and impact mission. This position involves developing and managing business opportunities, expanding global partnerships, and leading the ASU Cintana Alliance, a network of universities across 26 countries. The role requires a dynamic leader who can navigate complex global challenges and drive strategic initiatives within the Global Academic Initiatives unit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new relationships and manage accounts to generate global business opportunities for ASU.
  • Travel and represent ASU at PR launch events, conferences, and meetings with university and government officials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing global university partners.
  • Prioritize and advance complex operational aspects of global partnerships.
  • Connect global partners to ASU's various academic and administrative units.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to advance goals or projects without direct authority.
  • Present and market ASU's global efforts to various external groups locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on metrics to gauge the social and economic impact of ASU's work with global partners.
  • Develop a well-researched perspective regarding ASU's global activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Ten years of related experience, including five years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful business development activity.
  • Experience living, working, or traveling abroad.
  • Knowledge of global higher education principles and practices.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills in a complex organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Eight or more years of business development experience.
  • Evidence of an advanced degree and/or participation in research and/or publication activity.
  • Bi- or multi-lingual communication skills.
