As the Sr. Director of Creative Retail Media, you will be responsible for shaping the creative direction of Petco's retail media network. This role requires a visionary leader who can provide strategic direction and inspire a team of creative professionals to deliver innovative and effective advertising solutions. You will collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that our creative strategies align with business objectives and exceed client expectations. Your leadership will be crucial in advancing our brand and driving the retail media network industry forward.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership to the Creative Services team, defining the creative direction and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure creative strategies align with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a primary contact for creative services.
  • Understand client objectives and translate them into creative strategies that drive results and exceed expectations.
  • Develop and execute creative strategies aligned with client campaigns, the retail media network's mission, and Petco's internal brand guidelines.
  • Execute and manage high-quality creative assets for all of Retail Media (on-site, offsite, CRM, OOH) in collaboration with vendors, marketing & brand teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technology to continually enhance creative offerings.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of creative professionals, supporting their growth and development.
  • Manage the department's workflow to meet deadlines and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure all creative deliverables meet high-quality standards, consistency, and brand guidelines.
  • Oversee the review process to ensure accuracy and excellence in all creative materials.
  • Develop and manage the Creative Services budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to meet project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • A proven track record of at least 10 years in a leadership role within a creative agency or marketing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in retail, digital advertising, or media services is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate client goals into creative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A deep understanding of design principles, copywriting, multimedia production, and emerging creative technologies.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software and tools.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • An innovative mindset with a passion for staying current with industry trends.
