About the position

The Sr. Director Claim Payment & Presentment Product Lead at UnitedHealth Group is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the Claim Payment and Presentment Strategy and Delivery teams. This position plays a critical role in transforming the claims experience by developing and executing a vision for payment capabilities that align with enterprise objectives. The role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to enhance provider and member payment experiences, while managing delivery teams and fostering collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and maintain UHC roadmap for the claim payment capability.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and establish a strategic vision for Claim Payment and Presentment.
  • Participate in and contribute to major strategic initiatives.
  • Build and execute the strategy for end-to-end claim post-processing capabilities.
  • Lead innovation and next-generation capabilities for payment flexibility.
  • Support delivery teams in prioritizing business needs and understanding strategy.
  • Foster collaboration and drive execution across matrix teams internally.
  • Partner with experience teams to understand provider and member payment-related pain points.
  • Use data insights to support initiatives and report on success.
  • Anticipate and respond to the evolving marketplace and ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in payment business strategy and/or operations.
  • 5+ years in strategy development and planning, project management, and transformational change management practices.
  • 5+ years of program management experience or managing significant change initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Technology (FinTech) or healthcare.
  • Experience building effective relationships with leadership and influencing strategy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate or above proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated vision and strategy formulation skills.
  • Proven strength in influencing operational partners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
