About the position

The Sr. Director of Cybersecurity Operations at Teradata is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the company's cybersecurity efforts. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to balance security needs with business objectives. The director will lead a global team in monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats, ensuring the protection of Teradata's network and data. The role involves collaboration with the CISO and other stakeholders to integrate security measures into the overall business strategy, while also managing incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) team, ensuring effective training and collaboration among team members.
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance for security operations projects, including evaluating and recommending technical controls.
  • Oversee the deployment and optimization of cybersecurity operations technologies, managing threat management and incident response efforts.
  • Develop and manage Teradata's cybersecurity incident response program, coordinating responses to security incidents and conducting post-incident reviews.
  • Manage detection and response capabilities, ensuring appropriate visibility and tuning of detection platforms.
  • Define threat intelligence processes for collecting and analyzing data to enhance security operations.
  • Run a comprehensive Vulnerability Management program to ensure accurate data and swift remediation processes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks, developing risk management strategies.
  • Develop metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the security operations program.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and oversee vendor relationships to support security initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and develop security policies and procedures.
  • Promote security awareness through training and education programs, providing briefings and consultancy to various audiences.
  • Evaluate and implement security technologies to enhance operations, staying current with emerging trends.
  • Engage in ethical hacking to identify potential weaknesses and implement preventive measures.
  • Stay informed about the latest information security risks and evaluate emerging threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years in leadership roles within the information security or cybersecurity field.
  • Demonstrated experience in information security operations and extensive background in cybersecurity technologies.
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as EDR, SOC, NDR, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, IAM, Zero Trust Security, CSPM, and MDR.
  • Knowledge of security and control frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST, ITIL, SOX, and GDPR.
