About the position

As a Leader of Data Architecture within Personal Insurance at Travelers, you will be part of a strategic team focused on transforming business and technology capabilities. This role involves collaborating with senior leaders to design and implement next-generation information architecture that aligns with business goals, leveraging modern technology and data analytics to drive innovation and minimize technical debt.

Responsibilities

  • Design the next generation Information Architecture that accelerates the business vision.
  • Be an expert in one or more areas across the Data & Analytics domain including data analytics, data integration, business intelligence, artificial intelligence & machine learning.
  • Develop architecture priorities and direction to enable business imperatives.
  • Display strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principles and technology modernization.
  • Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Create a partnership with Senior Software Engineering leadership.
  • Look for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of new technology architecture solutions.
  • Define target state information architecture and roadmaps.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technology related field or equivalent with 7+ years of Architecture experience.
  • Organizational and transformational Leadership Experience in an agile operating model.
  • Strong technical background in the information Architecture space.
  • Software Development experience.
  • Experience in AWS components including Lambda, Kinesis/Firehose, Airflow, Glue, Spark, EC2, SageMaker, S3, NoSQL database and API Gateway.
  • Experience in data streaming technologies.
  • Experience with No SQL and GraphQL technologies.
  • Experience in Data Modeling, Governance and Data Management.
  • Experience with specific DevOps and MLOps (Machine Learning) practices.
  • Personal Insurance technology experience.
  • Experience with Data Governance and Management to enable data lineage, audit/ balance/ control, data domain and data quality projects.
  • Has hands on experience in the last 3 years.
  • Experienced with large scale technology platforms.
  • Experience modernizing data technology and information architecture on cloud.
  • Exposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AI.
  • Hands on experience with data technologies on cloud.
