About the position

The Sr. Director of Data Governance and AI Platform at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive data governance platform that aligns with the company's data security and legal policies. This role focuses on enhancing data quality, consistency, accessibility, and the protection of sensitive data, while leveraging AI technologies to automate governance practices. The position requires collaboration with various teams to establish standards and frameworks that ensure compliance and effective data management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data COE to build Southern Glazer's Data Fingerprinting, management, classification, taxonomy, ontology, tagging strategies, policies, standards, and control frameworks.
• Evaluate and establish emerging data security practices and technologies related to data management.
• Drive team's direction in implementing AI-driven data governance practices.
• Identify and track key metrics and measures to monitor data quality and adherence to security policies.
• Collaborate with Data COE, Security, and Legal to build a Responsible AI governance platform addressing model explainability, fairness, model bias, and toxicity.
• Oversee Southern Glazer's Regulatory, Security, and Data Quality Operations for Data & AI.
• Work with Data Integration and AI platform leaders to implement governance standards across Data and AI pipelines.
• Leverage AI to automate Data and AI governance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of focused experience in building data management, governance, risk, and compliance management platforms.
• Expertise in data management, data design, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in building data governance tools and platforms.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
