About the position

The Senior Director of the Global Business Optimization team at Visa is responsible for leading a team that transforms data into actionable insights to enhance client performance and drive business value. This role involves strategic leadership, client engagement, and the development of innovative data solutions to optimize payment processes and improve cardholder experiences. The Senior Director will also play a key role in the NA CNP Authorization Task Force, ensuring that Visa's products and initiatives are informed by expert analysis and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, functional and technical leadership to a team that derives analytical insights on client performance.
  • Serve as Visa's expert on authorization and authentication, influencing future products and initiatives.
  • Develop presentations of complex data for clients in an engaging manner.
  • Present analytic deliverables to external clients and internal stakeholders with varying analytical expertise.
  • Build self-service analytical tools for a holistic view of client performance.
  • Act as the business lead for the Minimum Approval Rate (MAR) behavioral fee program, delivering reporting and insights.
  • Participate in the Task Force for the Card Not Present (CNP) Authorization Scorecard initiative.
  • Enable client optimization conversations through content delivery that drives improvement in the payment ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and data scientists to develop new data solutions.
  • Deliver on the NA Global Business Optimization OKRs.
  • Build and retain a diverse and inclusive team.

Requirements

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree, or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Payments industry experience required (i.e. acquiring, issuing, processing, operations, systems, etc.).
  • High level of proficiency manipulating data from various sources, including big data skills (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL skills.
  • Strong experience in strategy business planning, revenue service planning, profit & loss management, and project management.
  • Proven ability to formulate strategy, drive change, and deliver results across functions.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Experience visualizing data with tools like Tableau or Power BI, with advanced Tableau skills.
