About the position

The Senior Director, EPC Programs at Bloom Energy is responsible for overseeing the selection and management of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners to support the company's installations business. This role focuses on negotiating costs, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards, and driving efficiencies within the EPC program. The position aims to enhance operational performance and foster strong partnerships with EPCs to support Bloom Energy's mission of providing clean, reliable energy globally.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and select EPCs in line with current and future needs of the Bloom Installations business.
  • Negotiate costs, operational performance, terms, and conditions with EPCs.
  • Implement cost reduction tracking methodologies and feedback mechanisms to improve installations cost and quality.
  • Develop partnership relations with EPCs and pursue new business opportunities for Bloom Energy.
  • Manage the CIG supply base to meet schedule, cost, flexibility, and technology needs.
  • Establish and communicate design, safety, and quality requirements to EPC suppliers.
  • Support CIG installation timelines with capacity and timely acceptances.
  • Evaluate and drive further actions with the CIG leadership team for competitive advantage.
  • Lead the EPC program to drive efficiencies and transition the team to higher value-added activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, engineering background preferred.
  • 15+ years in a senior procurement role, preferably in heavy industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing EPCs in the energy sector.
  • Technical skills for identifying and qualifying multiple EPCs.
  • Experience in driving and coordinating international construction activities.
  • In-depth negotiation experience with a focus on meeting cost targets.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships across the company and with suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to excel in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level and strong work ethic.
  • Organizational leadership skills with a results-oriented approach.
