About the position

Xtend Healthcare is seeking a Sr. Director of Insurance Operations to lead and manage the coordination between our sales force and service center operations teams. This hybrid role will require working three days in the office at our Chicago, IL client location. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all terms and deliverables outlined in task orders between Xtend Healthcare and its clients are met. This includes providing leadership and management for our clients, which range from critical-access hospitals to large multi-hospital systems. The Sr. Director will leverage extensive knowledge of hospital revenue cycle improvement strategies and operations management to foster positive relationships with key client contacts, including Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and other senior management personnel. The role involves direct supervision of onsite Client Services Directors and Managers, as well as their teams. The Sr. Director will be tasked with increasing revenues by identifying client needs for which Xtend Healthcare can provide services and solutions, such as coding, consulting, and interim management. It is essential to ensure that the Xtend Healthcare service center receives the necessary on-site support to meet client obligations, including requests for additional information and IT support. The position also requires coordinating strategy and communications between service center management and on-site teams to ensure progress on contracted scopes of work and cash and AR resolution goals. In addition to client management, the Sr. Director will participate in project management by implementing new projects and ensuring that Xtend executes the scope according to the defined terms. This includes setting and monitoring monthly project cash and resolution targets, maintaining satisfactory project performance standards, and reviewing executive reporting. Personnel management is also a key responsibility, including completing performance evaluations and mentoring team members. The Sr. Director will represent Xtend Healthcare positively and professionally, maintaining ethical relationships with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Xtend's sales force and service center operations teams to carry out all terms and deliverables of the scope of work outlined in task orders.
  • Provide leadership and management for clients, ensuring high levels of credibility and integrity on behalf of Xtend.
  • Supervise onsite Client Services Directors and Managers, as well as their subordinates.
  • Identify client needs for which Xtend Healthcare can provide services and solutions, such as coding and consulting.
  • Ensure the service center obtains needed on-site support and response to client obligations.
  • Coordinate strategy and communications between service center management and on-site teams to assure progress on contracted scope of work.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional Xtend services to clients, working closely with the sales team as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating workflows, project management, and reporting for the Coding, Consulting, and Self Pay service lines.
  • Design, develop, and implement policies and procedures to drive process excellence.
  • Organize, motivate, encourage, and lead work teams, serving as a management role model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (additional equivalent experience may substitute for education).
  • 5+ years of experience managing end-to-end revenue cycle in medium to large hospital/health systems.
  • 5+ years of client relationship management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising and leading people.
  • Experience leading complex projects for senior and executive management.
