About the position

The Sr. Director of Interventional Spine Marketing at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for the business unit, focusing on the Intracept procedure for treating Vertebrogenic Pain. This role involves leading a team of marketing professionals, overseeing product positioning, branding, pricing, and market development initiatives. The position is integral to the Interventional Spine Executive Leadership Team, requiring collaboration across various functions to drive business deliverables and market adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying future opportunities and challenges, incorporating them into multi-year global commercial strategies, and translating those strategies into tactical action plans.
  • Leading the commercial strategic planning process resulting in a detailed plan, budget, and KPIs for marketing initiatives.
  • Driving the implementation of marketing initiatives to accelerate global market adoption.
  • Measuring business performance against expectations, reporting on results, and adjusting strategies to maximize business opportunities.
  • Understanding market dynamics that influence business strategy and devising counterstrategies against competitors.
  • Directing and supporting market research collection, analysis, and interpretation for market forecasts and key business decisions.
  • Developing trust-based relationships with other functions, especially Sales, Professional Education, and R&D.
  • Attracting, retaining, and leading a high-performing team, setting annual goals, and empowering them to deliver on strategic priorities.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with customers, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality System policies and maintaining appropriate resources for quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years of relevant medical device experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Leader in Marketing
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Demonstrated experience with disruptive technology and accelerating adoption curves in medicine.
  • Leadership experience in all major marketing functions including downstream, upstream, healthcare professional, and direct-to-patient marketing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with health society leadership and KOLs.
