About the position

The Senior Director, IT Business Partner (BP) plays a crucial role in aligning IT strategy with the business objectives of the Clinical Trial Division. This position serves as the primary liaison between the business and IT, ensuring that technology projects are prioritized effectively and aligned with overall business goals. The BP is responsible for relationship management, project estimation, and lifecycle management of IT applications, while also advocating for the business's technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact / liaison between Business and Group/Division IT
  • Engage as an integral member of Group/Division IT leadership staff
  • Advise Group/Division IT Leadership staff on Business strategy and infrastructure trends
  • Act as trusted advisor for infrastructure technology to Group/Division IT leadership staff
  • Understand the strategic business direction to identify opportunities for technology innovation
  • Identify Business technology needs and maintain 3-year technology roadmaps
  • Represent and communicate Business management's Infrastructure Technology needs to Group/Division
  • Provide leadership in a high growth business balancing financial commitments
  • Participate in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process
  • Prioritize demand for assigned Business collaborating with architecture teams
  • Ensure organizational and business related priorities are communicated
  • Lead the application development and support teams for service line applications
  • Ensure IT local needs are understood and addressed by leveraging globalized processes
  • Support quality procedures and policies in IT teams
  • Display role model leadership in cyber security and quality

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience navigating a large IT department with diverse technologies
  • Ability to facilitate innovation in business processes and technical solutions
  • Experience leading a matrix team of professionals
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
  • More than 15 years of experience developing and supporting Manufacturing Systems, Quality Systems, ERP, and Business Intelligence
  • More than 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or business administration
  • Proven ability in a high growth business and developing teams to scale and deliver on commitments

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an IT leader at a manufacturing site
  • Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA
