About the position

The Sr. Director of Machine Learning and Data Science at CoreLogic will lead a team of Machine Learning Scientists and Data Scientists, collaborating closely with the Engineering and Technology group. This role focuses on managing the design, development, and production of machine learning and statistical modeling solutions, while also providing scientific leadership and mentoring to junior team members. The position is hybrid-remote and involves overseeing the integration of AI solutions into products, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, and participating in strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, development, and production of machine learning, statistical modeling, and overall company analytics solutions.
  • Act as a data science partner to product management and software engineering to define product strategy, roadmaps, and value propositions of AI solutions.
  • Provide direction and leadership for the selection and development of tools and methods for evaluating results.
  • Apply deep learning technologies to enable computers to visualize, learn, and respond to complex situations.
  • Adapt machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and robotics for interactive user experiences.
  • Manage and direct data science resources in alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Participate in company-wide product strategy, design, and development.
  • Serve as the technical leader of the Data Science team, providing scientific leadership and mentoring to junior members.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales analytic support for partners, prospects, and clients.
  • Analyze model performance and understand business requirements to formulate solutions.
  • Oversee QA and analysis of large datasets for partners and clients.
  • Create appropriate datasets for model building and select predictive features from raw data.
  • Recommend and select analytics techniques to solve specific problems.
  • Create model reports for client review and documentation.
  • Perform and oversee pattern recognition model creation and training using various algorithms and techniques.
  • Publish white papers on risk management methods and solutions and present at industry conferences.
  • Participate or lead client calls.

Requirements

  • PhD in Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or a closely related field plus ten years of experience in machine learning techniques and data mining, or a Master's Degree with 15 years of experience.
  • Expertise in multiple analytic development tools, statistical tools, and programming languages such as Python, R, Java, Scala, and Perl.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS or GCP) and machine learning techniques for real-world problems.
  • Advanced knowledge in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and relevant disciplines.
  • Understanding of relational data mining principles and managing data science teams.
  • Experience managing multiple key initiatives and projects with complex inter-dependencies.
  • Ability to formulate business problems and design analytic approaches.
  • Experience presenting analytic insights and modeling techniques internally and externally.
  • Experience in the US or international mortgage industry, including fraud, default, and delinquency.
