Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading Veryon’s best in class security program and managing its global infrastructure footprint, primarily in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role will be expected to coordinate efforts amongst internal teams and external customers and partners around the globe. The candidate should have experience building and tracking to roadmaps, and be able to clearly explain and demonstrate the benefits of DevSecOps initiatives while adhering to our core values. The Senior Director of Engineering will be a critical role at Veryon and will need to support staff at its various locations in North America, Europe, and Asia demonstrating mentoring and problem-solving skills across all departments. This role will lead DevOps and SecOps teams and will manage vendor and partner relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a solid understanding of the current state of the team, technology, and projects within the first 30 days.
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of current Infrastructure, CI/CD, Security, and Vendor management practices and processes.
  • Take ownership of Veryon’s security program, updating and articulating the roadmap, leading the team through execution, and showcasing the benefits.
  • Establish and monitor goals and growth plans for individual team members by various means such as 1:1s and metrics.
  • Present a readout to senior leaders on a plan to evolve Infrastructure, Deployment, and Automation practices with clearly defined milestones and regular progress reporting.
  • Ensure continued on-time delivery of releases, security updates, and patches within the first 6 months.
  • Complete the first set of performance reviews for the team and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and career growth.
  • Implement at least two innovations and demonstrate value using both KPIs and qualitative measures.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization as well as with customers and partners.
  • Take full ownership of vendor management, and manage the budget and procurement process for all software and tooling across the Engineering department.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading security programs and managing global infrastructure, particularly in AWS.
  • Proven ability to coordinate efforts among internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in building and tracking roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Mentoring and problem-solving skills across various departments.
