Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman, Launch and Missile Defense Systems Division, is currently seeking a Sr. Director of Operations and Efficiency to provide strategic leadership across the division in the areas of Operations, Safety, Mission Assurance, Facility Management, Efficiency, and Capital Expenditures. This position will be located in Arizona and provide support throughout major LMDS locations. The Sr. Director of Operations and Efficiency reports to the Vice President General Manager for LMDS and will lead the strategic vision of Operations for the division. In this role, the incumbent will have responsibility for division-wide management of safety, manufacturing, facilities and maintenance, capacity planning, management of capital expenditures, mission assurance, and lean operations across all launch and missile defense systems. The role involves the development and sustainment of a framework across the division Operations organization allowing some flexibility within each business unit but driving increased commonality and standardization. The incumbent will establish Non-Financial Metric (NFM) annual goals and drive achievement of NFM's for each Business Unit (Safety, Quality, On-time Delivery, etc.). They will review metrics unaligned with targets and organize Return-to-Green plans to improve performance. Additionally, the Sr. Director will lead the LMDS Safety Board across each division site, review all safety incidents, associated corrective action plans, and verify implementation. They will also manage the nomination and selection of the safety board annual awards and shepherd communications campaigns on safety through digital displays, online articles, and monthly email distribution. The position is responsible for overseeing the development, prioritization, communication, and execution of Division capital expenditure plans within each Business Unit, across the division, and up through sector and corporate. The incumbent will evolve the division's capital expenditure strategy over the Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP), define rationale for investment opportunities, and conduct business case analysis. They will assess and validate capacity, both office space and manufacturing space, to support current and future business needs, and conduct assessments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, performance to standard work, and least waste way, fostering a never-ending lean mentality throughout the organization.
