About the position

The Sr. Director of Project Management at Powin is responsible for establishing and leading project management functions, overseeing the execution of multiple projects, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and expertise in driving innovation and organizational transformation. The Sr. Director will manage risks, resolve issues, and handle dependencies across projects while mentoring a high-performing team of project managers and coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and project coordinators.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead programs driving innovation and manage delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Provide strategic vision and direction for the project management function.
  • Lead the development and implementation of project management policies and standards.
  • Generate and maintain a 12-month project roadmap in conjunction with business leaders.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and innovative methodologies in project management.
  • Serve as the escalation point for project stakeholders.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of all projects within the portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance structures for project management.
  • Identify, assess, and manage high-level project risks and issues.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting to ensure clarity of the project portfolio.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with other business units to identify key processes and dependencies.
  • Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure informed project execution decisions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate new tools and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management with a proven track record.
  • 7+ years' experience in a leadership role.
  • PMP or similar certification required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience leading large program management efforts.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software and enterprise tools.
  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
