About the position

The Senior Director of Software Engineering at PepsiCo will lead global software development initiatives, focusing on delivering high-quality software solutions that drive digital transformation across the company's value chain. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and collaboration with various departments to ensure the successful implementation of digital products and applications that align with PepsiCo's core priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Create the vision and guide a team of engineers to build and support digital products and applications (DPA) across S&T core priorities.
  • Develop software development strategy utilizing industry standards and create a roadmap based on business requirements.
  • Lead multi-discipline, high-performance work teams distributed across remote locations.
  • Build, manage, develop, and mentor a team of engineers.
  • Develop and execute S&T strategy and operational plans in collaboration with global teams.
  • Foster executive and senior-level client relationships with leaders and partners.
  • Build, develop and retain a high performing team through talent management best practices.
  • Drive relationships with PepsiCo internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and expand DPA capabilities through a customer-obsessed digital solutions platform.
  • Manage and escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to engineering initiatives.
  • Maintain and protect PepsiCo core values by hiring culturally aligned and diverse team members.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years in leading world-class engineering teams at a global scale.
  • Experience in building engineering teams from scratch.
  • Experience in starting or co-leading a Global Dev Center for a top-tier tech company.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor a team.
  • Experience with Azure/Google Cloud/Amazon Web Services and cloud-specific PaaS and SaaS solutions.
  • Experience with mission-critical, 24x7 systems.
  • Experience with high throughput cloud-native distributed systems.
  • Experience implementing and consuming large-scale web services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of programming languages beyond C#, Java, C or C++ (e.g., Ruby, Python, Perl).
