About the position

The Sr. Director of Software Engineering at TransCore is a leadership role focused on overseeing large technical teams and driving innovation in electronic toll collection applications. The position requires extensive experience in the Transportation and Back Office Systems, with a strong emphasis on aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, project oversight, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide large technical teams in defining architecture, design, and development for electronic toll collection applications across diverse regions of the USA.
  • Drive the overall management and delivery of features and functions related to customer service management, transaction processing, and violation enforcement.
  • Define the roadmap for the flagship product in electronic toll collection, ensuring integration of services based on industry needs.
  • Lead the development of interface specifications for data transfer in various electronic toll collection programs.
  • Ensure the end-to-end delivery of programs adheres to schedule, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Act as a point of escalation for conflict resolution and address clients' concerns.
  • Provide oversight to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and adherence to best practices.
  • Map out migration strategies and lead implementation efforts for new features and changes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to align technology initiatives with overarching business objectives.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.

Requirements

  • Over 15 years of experience in the Transportation and Road Usage Charging Back Office Systems industry.
  • Proven strategic leadership and program leadership skills.
  • Technical expertise in Electronic Toll Collection programs.
  • Strong business and technical analysis capabilities.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability in innovation and change management.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and team development.
