About the position

Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, is at the forefront of developing a next-generation streaming platform that integrates seamlessly with branded 4K streaming devices and smart TVs. This role of Sr Director, Sales Marketing, is pivotal in shaping the advertising strategies that will maximize ad sales revenue across the Xumo ecosystem. The successful candidate will report directly to Xumo's GM of Advertising and will be responsible for crafting, positioning, and promoting advertising solutions that resonate with both consumers and partners. This position requires a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, as the individual will need to ideate and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company's growth objectives. In this dynamic environment, the Sr Director will act as a key partner to the advertising sales team, ensuring that revenue goals are met through the development of compelling sales narratives and effective B2B marketing tactics. The role involves a deep understanding of the CTV ad sales marketplace, including competitors and ad-tech players, to effectively communicate the unique value proposition of Xumo's offerings. The individual will oversee the design and execution of research projects that provide insights into audience behavior and advertising effectiveness, thereby informing marketing strategies and product development. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Sr Director will engage with various internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product, Data, and Operations, to create scalable revenue-generating opportunities. The position also demands a strong analytical mindset, as the individual will need to interpret financial and ad effectiveness metrics to ensure budget and margin assurance. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and improve ongoing ad product marketing programs, ensuring that they align with the overall business objectives and market demands. This role is not just about strategy; it also requires hands-on execution and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of a start-up environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, position, package, and promote advertising solutions across the Xumo ecosystem.
  • Own Xumo Advertising's client-facing, go-to-market narrative and value proposition.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create scalable revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Coordinate marketing resources across different teams to meet budget and program objectives.
  • Engage stakeholders across various departments in the development and launch of marketing plans.
  • Understand financial and ad effectiveness metrics to inform marketing strategies.
  • Maintain and improve ongoing ad product marketing programs and analyses.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the CTV ad sales marketplace and supply chain.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in advertising or marketing, particularly in CTV ad sales.
  • Proven experience leading ad sales marketing teams across scaled CTV publishers or OEMs.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial and ad effectiveness metrics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with various stakeholders.
