About the position

The Senior Director, Software Engineering and Enterprise Architecture will lead and manage software engineering teams to drive innovation and implement industry best practices in application development and automation. This role is responsible for establishing the software engineering strategy, managing custom application development, and overseeing the Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence. The position requires expertise in cloud technologies, AI, and Agile methodologies to enhance software development productivity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage software engineering teams to promote innovation and best practices.
  • Establish the software engineering strategy and manage the delivery of the roadmap.
  • Oversee custom application development, integration, and RPA solutions following SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Manage a blended team of QA testers and developers to deliver on IT projects.
  • Track team commitments on schedules and timelines, leveraging software engineering metrics.
  • Set overarching enterprise architecture strategy and standards in collaboration with delivery teams.
  • Act as an expert on Microsoft development stack, RPA, and healthcare standards.
  • Develop and lead the DevOps strategy to ensure quality software deployments and application health.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain a leading-edge software engineering team.
  • Support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • 5 years of experience leading or managing software teams based on the Microsoft technology stack.
  • 7-10 years of hands-on architecture and solution design experience.
  • Prior experience as a hands-on programmer or developer.
  • Experience managing a blended onshore/offshore team of 8+ members.
  • Strong background in a Cloud (Azure DevOps) driven environment with CI/CD.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with web service and API integration is required.
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • ITIL Certification preferred.
  • Microsoft Certifications preferred.
  • Experience with API management, HL7, ANSI, and FHIR standards preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, and other agile tools.
  • Healthcare payor experience.
