About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will support a large defense contractor in the Combat Mission Systems business development sector. This role involves the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of complex military equipment, requiring expertise in electrical systems and components. The engineer will work under the direction of a project engineering lead to design electrical systems for various military applications, including combat vehicles and guided munitions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems and components.
  • Utilize advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, and technical data packages.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and technologies to ensure they can deliver required products or services.
  • Perform electrical system design on a variety of military systems under general direction.
  • Provide detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or 2+ years relevant experience with a master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Experience developing technical documentation such as drawings, reports, and technical analysis.
  • Ability to perform circuit simulation using tools like PSpice or LTspice.
  • Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.
  • Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and development of electronic control logic.
  • Experience with developing and integrating power generation, conversion, and storage solutions.
  • Experience in the development and integration of ammunition handling/loading systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages such as C, C#, Lab Windows/CVI.
  • Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio for circuit board schematic and layout.
  • Familiarity with design for components in a high EMI environment.
  • Systems Engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
