About the position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Vontier is responsible for developing product design solutions that meet customer requirements while balancing regulations, cost, project budget, quality, and delivery timelines. This role involves designing and validating electrical components and systems, utilizing Agile and Lean methodologies, and ensuring effective project management to deliver high-quality products on time.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, validates and documents fundamental function of electrical components and systems, integration of multiple electrical systems, and packaging of electronic systems
  • Utilizes Agile & Lean development methodologies, and effectively operates with a global mindset
  • Incorporates a set-based design approach, and can clearly articulate requirement trade-offs
  • Implements DFx principles, where x = Cost, Manufacturability, Assembly, etc.
  • Applies appropriate project management techniques to ensure on-time delivery, quality and cost
  • Interfaces with external suppliers and design partners to ensure adherence to schedule and quality of delivery
  • Constructs prototype and proof of concept models
  • Defines, writes and processes Engineering Change Notices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 3-5 years electrical engineering experience demonstrating capability of owning development and delivery of new electrical or electro-mechanical subsystems while interfacing in cross-functional teams
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Global product development and delivery experience
  • Experience in lab and manufacturing environments
  • Analog and digital circuit design
  • Familiar with Python, Machine Language, PLC programming
  • Experience modeling cable paths and connector designs
  • PCBA layout experience including design for EMI, EMC, FCC compliance
  • Experience using Value Add and Value Engineering analysis techniques
  • Complete development process experience, including project definition, development, testing, subsystem integration, release to manufacturing
  • Experience with DFMEA, DOE, Project Management, and Engineering Change Processes
