About the position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer for Medtronic's NeuroModulation/Pelvic Health division will be responsible for the electrical hardware design of implantable neurostimulation devices. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of design changes and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong circuit analysis skills and experience in low power electronics design, contributing to the development and improvement of medical devices aimed at treating neurological disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct circuit level design and analysis to evaluate circuit function.
  • Identify and qualify alternate electronic components through design analysis and testing.
  • Manage product changes and change control activities, including documentation updates.
  • Support IQ/OQ/PQ, DOE's, SPC, and other statistical methodologies.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to manufacturing sites and suppliers to enhance efficiency.
  • Engage in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
  • Analyze field returned products to determine root causes of failures.
  • Support CAPA processes and issue escalations.
  • Collaborate with reliability and manufacturing teams for testing and assessments.
  • Assist Regulatory Specialists with design and clinical data for regulatory submissions.
  • Participate in new product development and ensure transfer deliverables are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Experience with laboratory instruments such as DMM, oscilloscope, and logic analyzers.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with schematic design and PCB layout using CAD tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in writing engineering documents such as specifications and test plans.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
