About the position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer, Production Engineering at V2X Aerospace Solutions is responsible for supporting the manufacturing and repair of military aircraft radar systems. This role requires the development of technical solutions to complex problems, guiding the completion of major electrical and mechanical subassemblies, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. The position is on-site and involves troubleshooting, technical documentation, and integrating new technologies into existing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Answer technical questions from suppliers of electronic components.
  • Assist technicians on the floor with troubleshooting electronic components.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to identify and resolve issues with test equipment.
  • Work with design engineers to address parts obsolescence and develop recommendations.
  • Review the Bill of Material (BOM) for accuracy prior to production release.
  • Develop manufacturing procedures to assist technicians in product assembly.
  • Generate Change Notices or Variances for design changes during manufacturing or repair.
  • Assist in developing Basis of Estimates for future work.
  • Integrate new technology into existing manufacturing processes to reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years full-time engineering experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or depot support role with electrical assemblies such as circuit card assemblies, power supplies, radar systems, RF transmitter/receiver assemblies.
  • Experience writing/editing technical documents.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Experience using basic electronics diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to understand electrical component datasheets and recommend replacements for obsolete parts.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with industry and military specifications and standards.
  • Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong technical leadership capabilities.
  • Manufacturing experience with defense-related products.
  • Existing Secret Security Clearance preferred or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in RF systems and airborne radar systems.
  • Design experience with defense-related products.
  • Knowledge of configuration management processes.
  • Experience with Windchill (product data management).
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience in developing and maintaining Engineering Technical Data Packages.
  • Knowledge of the Production Release Process.
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) - SAP preferred.
  • Ability to estimate project/task effort for cost and schedule.
