In this role as a Senior Electrical Engineer Technician at Textron Systems, you will be responsible for the production of both newly developed and legacy products within the Electronic Systems business area. The position requires an active Top Secret security clearance and is focused on the design and testing of complex printed circuit boards that utilize micro-processors and controllers, high-efficiency power supply design, analog signal conditioning, sensors, and RF components. You will also be expected to have experience in designing systems that can initiate ordnance, adhering to the rigorous standards set by the safety community. Familiarity with FPGA design in VHDL or Verilog is considered a bonus, as this role demands a high level of technical expertise and innovation. As a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician, you will perform a variety of complex technical test functions that support production activities. This includes setting up, operating, modifying, calibrating, and testing digital, analog, RF, and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) electronic assembly and sub-assembly processes. You will be tasked with diagnosing and correcting equipment and system malfunctions that do not respond to standard corrective measures. Additionally, you will write and interpret specifications used in the design, maintenance, and calibration of electronic systems, chassis, or components, and prepare reports, charts, and graphs as part of the process documentation. The ideal candidate must be team-oriented, able to communicate effectively, and interface with others to execute manufacturing schedules. A solid understanding of electronics, physics, and mathematics is essential, along with technical training and 2-4 years of relevant experience. You will work under general supervision and may independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Maintaining a safe lab test station environment by following applicable practices and processes is crucial. You may also collaborate with engineers to assist in the development of testing new products or test processes as applicable. Familiarity with electronics test and measurement equipment, such as power supplies, signal generators, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, RF spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, and IR cameras, is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also necessary.
