About the position

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Trane Technologies, you will be responsible for executing critical product design improvement projects within the Thermo King division. This role involves applying engineering principles to develop solutions that meet product requirements while ensuring cost, quality, and schedule are adhered to. You will work on optimizing power electronic components and support cross-functional teams in aligning product requirements and implementing solutions in production.

Responsibilities

  • Execute critical product design improvement projects.
  • Select and qualify electrical and electro-mechanical power components.
  • Generate unit electrical designs, prototypes, and test documentation.
  • Support cross-functional project teams to align product requirements.
  • Investigate product quality and reliability issues to find root causes and recommend design changes.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and model-based simulation of electromechanical systems.
  • Write clear technical requirements, specifications, and reports.
  • Lead design reviews and design validation activities.
  • Conduct testing, analyze results, and execute design updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or product development.
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies and harness design.
  • Ability to perform detailed calculations for electrification standards.
  • Experience with standard analysis and reporting tools (A3, 8D, DFMEA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with product development phase/gate processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management.
  • Knowledge of multiple power electronic modules (DC to DC, Inverters, etc.).
