About the position

The position involves collaborating with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects. The role focuses on electrical design work-streams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and managing external vendors to deliver scalable engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects.
• Execute electrical design work-streams including panel design, motor & drive sizing, electrical load calculations, and system I/O architecture.
• Deliver engineering workstreams including panel design and layout, power calculations, safety analysis, and compliance with regulations.
• Ensure project documentation is complete and scalable for manufacturing.
• Support the project team in the safety certification of the project/platform.
• Manage external vendors in developing solutions.
• Participate in meetings to optimize customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• 7+ years of experience designing electrical connections inside industrial electrical cabinets with voltages in the 100-600VAC and 5-60VDC ranges.
• 7+ years of experience supporting production systems in the industrial environment.
• 5+ years of experience designing schematics for industrial applications.
• 4+ years of experience with industry safety standards (UL508A preferred).
• 4+ years of hands-on prototyping experience in the lab.
• 2+ years of experience managing external vendors (ODM, OEM).
• Ability to support domestic and international travel as required.

Nice-to-haves

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 4+ years of experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards.
• 4+ years of project management experience for technical projects.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial programming (HMI, PLC, Motion).
• 3+ years of experience in operations within a manufacturing environment.
