About the position

PPS is a leading electrical contracting firm specializing in Utility, Clean Energy, and Critical Power infrastructure for Federal and Private clients across the US. We offer a dynamic work environment that encourages professional growth and innovation, empowering you with the freedom to excel. We are seeking a motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role involves supporting stand-alone electrical design projects and serving as in-house engineering for our electrical contracting operations. The ideal candidate must have a current P.E. Stamp in order to be considered for this position. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will perform electrical design work for a variety of projects, including utility, Clean Energy, and Critical Power. You will develop and analyze single-line diagrams, conduct Arc-Flash Studies, create specifications, and coordinate technical procurement. It is essential to ensure that all designs comply with industry best practices, codes, and regulations. You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver subject matter expertise and participate in occasional site visits and field inspections to ensure project specifications are met. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and technical reports, while staying current with advancements in electrical engineering and incorporating new technologies and methodologies into your designs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design work for a variety of projects, including utility, Clean Energy, and Critical Power.

  • Ensure designs comply with industry best practices, codes, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Must currently hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools).
  • Previous experience in utility, clean energy, or federal designs.
  • Knowledge of federal contracting requirements and procedures.
