About the position

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the full product life cycle, from concept through to design, development, proto-build, and the transfer of designs to manufacturing and sustaining activities. You will be responsible for developing electrical embedded systems for electro-mechanical devices and collaborating with cross-functional design teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and evaluating product designs through design reviews, creating design verification test plans, production test plans, and conducting failure mode analysis. You will need to develop designs that meet system requirements, which will involve prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and releasing designs for production. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, as you will be working with multi-discipline engineering groups and providing support to manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

  • Integrate into the full product life cycle from concept, design, development, proto-build, and transfer designs to manufacturing and sustaining activities.
  • Develop electrical embedded systems for electro-mechanical devices and work with cross-functional design teams.
  • Review and evaluate product design through design reviews, design verification test plans, production test plans, and failure mode analysis.
  • Develop designs that meet system requirements, including prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design release for production.
  • Maintain solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, while working with multi-discipline engineering groups and providing support to manufacturing.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years' experience with microcontroller-based embedded electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and embedded firmware.
  • Proficient in utilizing EE CAD packages for schematic entry and PCB layout design, such as Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, or similar.
  • Strong skills in designing microcontroller-based designs with embedded analog and digital circuits.
  • Strong skills in developing and implementing embedded firmware for microcontrollers and ability to use software/debug tools.
  • Prior experience with I2C/SPI/USB protocol implementation and interfaces.
  • Knowledge or experience with wireless designs (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/BLE).
  • Experience in developing and performing design validation testing, circuit analysis, and test fixtures for product life cycle and implementation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Designing for EMI/EMC/ESD and working with test labs for FCC/CE certifications is a plus.
  • Experience with FPGA-based designs for high-speed I/O interfaces is a plus.
  • Experience with designing electric motor drive systems, encoder interfaces, and LAN interfaces is a plus.
