About the position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer will join the Integrated Communications Systems Group (ICSG) to design and develop advanced digital communications systems that meet the stringent requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD) and other civilian agencies. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary engineering team, participating in all phases of system development, and ensuring compliance with military specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform theoretical and applied engineering design in digital logic, analog, and digital audio circuits.
  • Establish and meet product requirements for performance, packaging, environmental conditions, and product verification testing.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, firmware, and software engineering teams.
  • Participate in the concept, design, development, fabrication, testing, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of technical systems.
  • Develop detailed design specifications and map design requirements into sub-tier documents.
  • Create technical performance measurement criteria for projects.
  • Coordinate with the Program Manager and Lead Engineer on performance, schedule, and cost metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and represent ICSG at trade shows.
  • Prepare document deliverables according to customer and military specifications.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, including conceptual design and cost estimation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Advanced electrical engineering degree is desirable.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering design and development experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in DoD and related government agency programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge in human engineering, systems safety engineering, reliability and maintainability engineering, and risk management.
  • EMI/EMC and TEMPEST experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and schematic capture programs (Altium preferred).
  • Experience with FPGA devices (Microsemi preferred) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with C/C++, VHDL, and LabView is a plus.
  • Prior experience in wireless communications is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
