About the position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Vertiv Corporation will play a crucial role in the development and testing of new subsystems that are integral to large battery backup products utilized in Vertiv's uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). This position is centered around the design and implementation of battery management systems and electronic subassemblies, which are essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power solutions. The engineer will collaborate closely with various teams, including research and development, product management, program management, and manufacturing engineering, to deliver innovative solutions that meet stringent cost, schedule, and performance targets. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for developing and testing electrical designs specifically tailored for new battery management systems. This includes researching and creating comprehensive test plans for new types of UPS backup batteries, as well as drafting specifications for new circuit boards associated with these systems. The engineer will also assist in the schematic development process and will be required to interact with external vendors and suppliers to clarify specifications and obtain quotes for necessary equipment. Additionally, the role involves supporting sustaining engineering activities, such as evaluating substitute components, and providing engineering support for test activities conducted by other Vertiv product groups. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace Vertiv's core principles and behaviors, which emphasize safety, integrity, respect, teamwork, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
