About the position

The Sr. Email & Web Content Operations Specialist is a pivotal role within Axos Bank, focusing on the execution and optimization of email marketing campaigns and web content. This position is designed for a creative and tech-savvy individual who will enhance customer engagement, retention, and conversion through compelling email and web content. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in HTML and CSS, a deep understanding of email marketing and web best practices, and experience with various marketing technology platforms. This role is part of a new division within the Axos Enterprise Marketing team, specifically within the Marketing Tech & Revenue Operations department. In this role, the specialist will serve as the administrator and hands-on operations expert for Stensul/Marketing Cloud and Contentful. They will assist the FVP of MarTech & RevOps with integration work across email, messaging, and web channels, as well as other MarTech tools such as Branch.io and Extole. The position combines expertise in email marketing, web content management, and system integration, making it essential for maintaining seamless marketing communications and campaigns. Key responsibilities include designing and executing engaging email campaigns, ensuring high-quality and responsive email templates, configuring and maintaining web content, and building and managing marketing automation workflows that include email, SMS, and push notifications. The specialist will also collaborate with tech teams on data feeds and integrations with Salesforce, Contentful, and other systems. They will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for email marketing best practices, conduct A/B tests, analyze results, and produce reports and analytics to provide insights for improving campaign performance. Collaboration with marketing and business unit teams is crucial to understand their email and web content requirements and ensure effective execution.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute engaging email campaigns ensuring high-quality and responsive email templates.
  • Configure and maintain web content.
  • Build and manage marketing automation workflows (journeys) that include email, SMS, and push notifications.
  • Collaborate with tech teams on data feeds and integrations with Salesforce, Contentful, and other systems.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for email marketing best practices, deliverability, and optimization techniques.
  • Conduct A/B tests and analyze results to optimize future campaigns.
  • Produce email marketing reports and analytics, providing insights and recommendations to improve campaign performance.
  • Work closely with marketing and business unit teams to understand their email and web content requirements and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience creating email templates and landing pages, with the ability to build emails from scratch.
  • 5+ years of experience managing automated marketing campaigns using cloud technology (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot).
  • 4+ years of experience managing web content and/or Content Management Systems.
  • Experience with or knowledge of AMPScript and SQL is highly desired.
  • Experience with Headless CMS is a big plus.
  • Strong experience with email creation and management platforms.
  • Hands-on experience/knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, but open to other systems like Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot.
  • Excellent eye for email design and UX that engages, nurtures, and converts subscribers.
  • Proven experience using email testing, rendering, and deliverability tools such as Validity Everest, Litmus, etc.
  • Proven success in developing and executing email marketing strategies that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices and analytics, including email deliverability.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end experience of emails and forms/landing pages from creation to deployment.
  • Knowledge of Marketing Automation concepts such as Lead Management, scoring, Demand Generation, Personalization, and Lifecycle/Growth Marketing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CRM/Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) is a big plus, as well as basic SQL skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with a desire for complete ownership of projects.

  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for email marketing and design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other marketing automation platforms.
  • Experience in coding HTML with the ability to build emails and landing pages from scratch.
  • Experience in Headless CMS (such as Contentful) and/or other composable marketing technologies.
