About the position

As a Sr. Embedded HMI Application Developer specializing in Android, iOS, and Linux-based systems, you will be responsible for developing embedded applications within the automotive infotainment production environment. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded software development, particularly in the context of automotive applications. You will be accountable for realizing the functions of the applications and achieving performance targets in alignment with project objectives. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the applications meet customer requirements and industry standards. In this position, you will design, develop, and test embedded applications on hardware, ensuring that they are robust and user-friendly. You will take ownership of modules and features, conducting requirement analysis, design, development, and bug fixes. Regular status reporting to upper management will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals. You will also be expected to engage in proactive communication, driving discussions to reach actionable outcomes and fostering a collaborative work environment. Your role will require you to work on-site at the customer location for a minimum of three days a week, which will facilitate direct interaction with stakeholders and enhance the development process. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about embedded systems and has a strong background in software development, particularly in the automotive sector.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded applications on hardware based on customer requirements.
  • Take responsibility for modules/features requirement analysis, design, development, including bug fixes and status reporting to upper management.
  • Engage in proactive communication to drive discussions and reach actionable outcomes.
  • Work on customer location a minimum of 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development.
  • Experience in UI development for web, iOS, Android, or native Linux applications.
  • Proficiency in Dart, TypeScript, Objective C, Kotlin, and Swift.
  • Base knowledge of operating systems level interactions, including file systems, user access management controls, command line interface, and software build/deployment.
  • Strong understanding of UX design, focusing on customer experience and usability.
  • Prior work experience on projects of various sizes, organizations, and technical architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive communication skills to drive discussions and outcomes.
  • Japanese business communication skills (good to have).
  • A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
