About the position

The Employee Relations Specialist provides support and guidance to field management and employees within a designated region of the FMS Division. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations while addressing and resolving human resource issues. The specialist utilizes their expertise to manage employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and provide coaching to enhance workplace dynamics and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide employee relations support and guidance to field management and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal employment regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve human resource issues, including personnel management and policy interpretation.
  • Develop and facilitate training for leadership and field staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate with various organizational partners, including HR Business Partners and Corporate Counsel.
  • Administer personnel and employee relations programs in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage Employee Relations matters, including coaching employees and managers.
  • Conduct climate assessments and communicate findings to executives with recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist with on-boarding new employees and Affirmative Action planning.
  • Review and assist managers in drafting corrective action and termination documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience or an advanced degree without experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law including FMLA and ADAAA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, assessment, and change management skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and database report writing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is desirable.
