About the position

The Senior Employee Relations Partner at Quest Diagnostics plays a crucial role in the Employee Relations Center of Excellence, focusing on resolving employee relations matters, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation. This position involves mentoring Employee Relations Partners, collaborating with various HR functions, and overseeing employee retention initiatives across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employees and managers to resolve complex work-related issues through advice and recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality decisions and counsel to managers and employees, identifying trends and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Administer the company's coaching and disciplinary action process, including performance management guidance.
  • Support management in preparing documentation for disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct in-depth internal investigations of allegations regarding performance, misconduct, or policy violations.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employment law compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and recommend policy updates.
  • Provide guidance on the development of policies and processes for the Employee Relations Center of Excellence.
  • Monitor and report on retention and turnover metrics to support employee relations processes.
  • Leverage employee engagement tools to surface and address employee relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Employee Relations Consultants.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in HR Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist roles in comparable organizations.
  • Prefer Labor Union experience, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
  • Prefer 2 years of leadership experience through mentorship, supervisory, or project management roles.
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as HRIS, HR Reporting, and Case Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within HR or Employee Relations.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR systems and reporting tools.
