About the position

The Senior Employee Relations Partner is a crucial member of the Employee Relations Center of Excellence, responsible for equipping managers with the necessary tools to address employee relations issues, foster a positive work environment, and ensure compliance with employment legislation. This role involves overseeing employee engagement and retention initiatives across multiple sites and lines of business, mentoring Employee Relations Partners, and collaborating with various HR functions to enhance employee relations practices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employees and managers to resolve complex work-related issues through advice and recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality decisions and counsel consistently to managers and employees.
  • Identify and analyze employee matters, recommending appropriate actions to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Administer the company's coaching and disciplinary action process, including performance management guidance.
  • Support management in preparing complex disciplinary action documentation and performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct in-depth internal investigations of allegations regarding performance, misconduct, or policy violations.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employment law compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and recommend policy updates.
  • Provide guidance on the development of policies and tools for the Employee Relations Center of Excellence.
  • Monitor and report on retention and turnover metrics to support employee relations processes.
  • Leverage employee engagement tools to surface and address employee relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Mentor and provide direction to Employee Relations Consultants.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in HR Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist roles.
  • Prefer experience with Labor Unions and collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience through mentorship, supervisory roles, or project management.
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as HRIS, HR Reporting, and Case Management.

  • Experience in a comparable organization with a focus on employee relations.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR systems and reporting tools.
