About the position

The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist at Aristocrat Technologies is responsible for managing employee relations tasks and providing guidance within a designated region. This role involves conducting investigations, resolving employee-related issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. The specialist will act as a subject matter expert in employee relations processes, optimize services, and collaborate with various internal stakeholders to enhance employee relations initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations regarding workplace issues, whistleblower complaints, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
  • Respond to requests, assist employees and managers, document findings, make recommendations, and drive appropriate actions to resolve complex employee-related matters in a timely manner.
  • Partner with P&C business partners to assess and perform employee relations work, determine corrective actions, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure corrective actions are fair, consistent, and comply with relevant laws and company standards.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, produce metrics, and create reports with recommended actions regarding employee relations initiatives.
  • Capture and maintain comprehensive records within a case tool (ServiceNow) while ensuring confidentiality and developing documentation for employment-related matters.
  • Represent Aristocrat in front of regulatory and governmental agencies regarding unemployment filings, hearings, and other employee relations matters.
  • Conduct exit interviews, surveys, and analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Identify, create, maintain, and obtain approval for employee/labor relations policies, practices, handbooks, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee and labor relations or as a P&C business partner supporting employee relations activities.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of labor laws, investigations, conflict resolution, and employee relations best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively navigate sensitive matters.
  • Ability to conduct formal investigations and document findings for legal and audit purposes.
  • Proven ability to research information, analyze data, and use sound judgment to draw valid conclusions and prepare recommendations.
  • Ability to establish credibility, build rapport, and create trust in a virtual setting.
  • Excellent consultative, listening, and communication skills; ability to influence and negotiate persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, emotional, and confidential situations professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
