About the position

The Senior Energy Compliance Analyst will support the Energy division within U.S. Venture, focusing on business continuity and regulatory compliance for new commercial activities. This role involves communication with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, particularly in the energy commodities sector, including gasoline, diesel, and renewable fuels. The position is based in Houston, TX, with potential remote options for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading the development and implementation of compliance programs for the U.S. Venture Energy division.
  • Manage registration, reporting, and audit obligations for state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee renewable instrument transaction processes, including reporting of RINs, LCFS/CFP credits, and RECs.
  • Establish and maintain written policies and procedures related to regulatory requirements and product quality.
  • Manage relationships with industry counterparts to stay updated on regulatory changes.
  • Support business leadership in understanding the regulatory framework and evaluate risk areas.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Product Quality Assurance program against industry standards.
  • Participate in Incident Response coordination for product specification issues.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience in the refined petroleum or renewable energy/utilities industry.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to maintain cross-functional relationships and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in researching compliance regulations relevant to the U.S. Energy division.
  • Skilled in project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with renewable energy compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with EPA, CARB, and other regulatory agencies.
