There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
As a Senior Engineer specializing in Durability Loads & Analysis at Rivian, you will play a crucial role in defining durability specifications for various sub-systems and components of our electric adventure vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of durability analysis, starting from the initial program target setting, which facilitates the design of components and vehicles, to the collection of on-road load data. This data will be cascaded to determine component loads, and you will be tasked with developing block-cycle, random vibration, or accelerated durability test profiles to validate the performance of components, systems, and vehicles. In this role, you will create and refine automotive durability specifications and test profiles, including block cycles and random vibration tests. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with loads development teams to define the necessary inputs for vehicle, sub-system, and component durability requirements. Additionally, you will assist validation teams in developing durability tests and lead projects focused on collecting and analyzing durability road load data. You will also be responsible for defining data quality standards and measurement best practices to ensure that all data collected meets the required standards. As the data owner, you will maintain comprehensive documentation of durability data and the Road Load Data Analysis (RLDA) library. You will collaborate with the instrumentation team to gather proving ground data using various tools such as wheel force transducers, accelerometers, strain gauges, and vehicle CAN channels. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you perform durability load and fatigue calculations for various systems and components using software like nCode or similar programs. You will also create standardized methods and document processes to streamline operations. Your support will extend to all aspects of durability validation, including full vehicle proving ground testing, MTS 329 rig durability, and component bedplate strength and durability testing. You will work collaboratively within Rivian and with external suppliers to ensure that specified test protocols are effectively implemented.
