About the position

The Sr Engineer Reliability Midstream - Instrumentation and Controls role is focused on enhancing equipment reliability within the North Dakota Bakken Asset. This position involves collaboration across various departments to support operations related to wells, pads, and gas/oil/water gathering, as well as the Tioga Gas Plant. The engineer will lead reliability engineering efforts, develop maintenance strategies, and provide troubleshooting support for instrumentation and control equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts for Reliability Engineering regarding Instrumentation to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Develop and implement multi-year instrumentation improvement and obsolescence plans.
  • Lead bad actor elimination efforts and ensure effectiveness of countermeasures.
  • Develop and optimize equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure reliability/availability requirements are maintained in Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Analyze predictive maintenance data and initiate corrective work based on Performance Standard results.
  • Develop and utilize key performance indicators for corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control equipment with Operations and Maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Participate in scope development and repair of critical equipment.
  • Act as instrumentation adviser to Process and Reliability Engineers regarding equipment capabilities and improvement opportunities.
  • Support Infrastructure projects by providing reliability, maintainability, and operability input.
  • Own instrument-driven MOCs and provide technical requirements/reviews/approvals for larger MOCs.
  • Ensure instrument maintainability/serviceability is integrated into projects.
  • Validate criticality, equipment hierarchy/taxonomy, and establish maintenance strategies in SAP for new equipment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated history of utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance tools to optimize asset performance/lifecycle.
  • Experience in root cause failure analysis and FMEA.
  • Knowledge in Process Hazard Analysis, Layer of Protection Analysis, and Safety Instrumented Systems preferred, with understanding of IEC 61511 requirements.
  • Strong knowledge in general plant and oil & gas instrumentation & field devices such as pressure, level, and flow instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, and flow meters.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
