About the position

The Senior Software Engineer position at Nationwide's Information Technology team focuses on delivering high-quality technology solutions to support internal customers. This role involves maintaining existing systems and designing future PCaaS systems using Angular and API connections, while working in a hybrid environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.
• Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Full stack development experience
• Writing stored procedures and views in SQL Server
• Experience with GitHub and Postman
• Unit testing (xUnit.Net)
• Swagger UI
• Powershell
• Insurance/financial services industry knowledge.
